Tell us why you’re best for the Policy, Advocacy, and Ecosystem committee!
I’m a community advocate passionate about tech education, safety, and awareness. I understand public policy advocacy and also utilizing story telling and events to raise awareness and mobilize people to action. I have experience in event planning and promotions, digital marketing, and fund development.
Tell us why you’re best for the Special Projects committee!
As a community organizer in Detroit I understand the value and special attention required to building and maintaining relationships among multiple groups of people for collaboration. I’m keenly aware of strategies for organizing and being inclusive of all people. I also have a background in digital marketing and social media awareness. I’m passionate about tech education for marginalized people and would like to leverage my skills to advocate for the residents of my hometown.
Why are you interested in serving on a Connect 313 Committee? What do you hope to gain from the experience?
I’m interested in serving on a committee because it is a great opportunity for me to connect with the Detroit community and leverage my skills for a greater cause. I’m passionate about service and empowerment of marginalized youth and women in particular and believe this is an exciting opportunity to give back and also learn, build, and grow. I hope to gain life-long relationships, invaluable experience, and to elevate my own expertise.
What is your vision for bridging the digital divide in Detroit?
We have to get to the root of the problem, which is lack of resources and access. I envision a Detroit where its residents are not only seen and heard but where their voices are amplified and valued. I envision accessibility, equity, and justice.
