What is your company and title?
Executive Director, The Urban Alliance
Tell us why you’re best for the Devices and Connectivity committee!
My background in nonprofit leadership, coalition- building, and organizational fundraising positions me as a strong candidate for this role. As a Detroiter, parent, and Executive Director of The Urban Alliance, I am a stakeholder in closing Detroit’s’ digital divide from many angles.
Tell us why you’re best for the Structure and Operations committee!
As a Detroiter, a parent of a school aged child, and leader of an organization that provides workforce development (virtually) for high schoolers, I am invested in the success of Connect 313. I also have the professional skills and background to support leading this committee.
Why are you interested in serving on a Connect 313 Committee? What do you hope to gain from the experience?
I hope to advance digital literacy in Detroit by convening, fundraising, and advocacy. This goal is a gain for myself, family, and the people of Detroit.
What is your vision for bridging the digital divide in Detroit?
I envision a city where access to the internet is not a luxury and access to the skills to use technology and the internet is easy and affordable.
Please share your current community activities and/or volunteer work.
I volunteer with the Alpha Kappa Alpha Foundation of Detroit, on the board of Athletes Without Borders, and also with The Circle, a program for girls.
