DTE Energy

Tell us why you’re best for these committees!

I lead a community organization, Detroit Community Care Network, where we connect individuals and families to resources, programs, services and information that has a positive impact in their lives. Our work is centered around collaboration as a key core value and this aligns with Connect 313 work. Access to internet connectivity & devices is a key component in the work of DCCN as we provide care coordination services to clients. In addition, I have strong community relationships that are ready to contribute their services to the devices and connectivity work. We are already working with the Detroit Housing Commission to connect the public housing communities.

Why are you interested in serving on a Connect 313 Committee? What do you hope to gain from the experience?

I’ve shared that DCCN work will be impacted by the work of Connect 313 and it is important to have a voice in the direction this work goes to represent our clients best interest.

What is your vision for bridging the digital divide in Detroit?

My vision is to align with the vision of Connect 313 and at the same time create pathways for those DCCN serves to avail themselves of all the offerings that this work births. I also envision that my many corporate partners and relationships will align with the vision we set forth and bring their resources to bear in this work.

Please share your current community activities and/or volunteer work.

I am currently a Board member of Matrix Human Services a $50 million non-profit in the city of Detroit whose mission is to break the generational cycle of poverty in the city of Detroit. I also serve as a board member of Tri-Unity Community Development Corporation and lead the business development committee. I am managing Director for Detroit Community Care Network a faith-based organization that connects to in need to resources, programs, services and information that will have a positive impact in their life.
